two halves | second-hand finds

What I love about thrift or charity shopping is that everything is essentially unique. You’re not picking your size out of a clutch of identical items – you’re picking up the one perfect thing which has been waiting all week for you to walk in the door.

The downside is that everything is irreplaceable. But that’s where I got lucky with this ASOS dress I found in the Sue Ryder shop. One in a blue size 10, one in a slightly more risky size 8.

Another splendid thing about second-hand shopping is that you get to imagine the stories behind the clothes. Did someone order both and miss the returns date? Was one for work and one for drinks? Is it an uncanny coincidence? Speaking of uncanny, here I am modelling both at the same time.

(Blue-dress me thinks that black-dress me is being a bit pretentious.)
